Goathead 12-23-2014 02:03 PM

Eluveite and Arkona, with Skalml as support band, in Esch, Luxembourg.

To be honest, I totally hate Eluveitie and Melodic Death Metal in general, so I was just there for Arkona. Was fucking awesome as always, but hurted badly my leg in a wall of death, had problems to walk for many days. And Skalmld are a fine band too.

Prepare for Hell with Slipknot and Korn

Summers last stand is right around the corner Slipknot and Lamb of God.

FryeDwight 06-14-2015 02:28 AM

We saw 1964-THE TRIBUTE last night. Really good Beatles tribute band playing pre-SGT PEPPER material. Had it down and played 30 songs.

hammerfan 08-04-2015 04:08 AM

Last night: saw Elvis Costello and Steely Dan. Excellent show by Steely Dan!

FryeDwight 08-20-2015 03:13 AM

Justin Hayward Plymouth NH 8/19/15. Really like The Moody Blues, but even my wife, a HUGE fan, agrees with me they have been sleepwalking the last 20 years with the endless orchestras/additional players. Wonderful show last night with basically a threesome with JH on vox/acoustic gtr, Julie Ragins on keys/vox percussion and the amazing Mike Dawes (who also opened) on guitars. Despite very stripped down, sounded great with some new material, the old vintages and some never played songs. Sometimes less can truly be more.

Jake.Ashworth 08-20-2015 05:19 AM

Saw Coal Chamber and Fear Factory a few weeks ago and will be seeing Slipknot and Lamb of God in two weeks!

FryeDwight 09-29-2015 10:57 AM

Wife loves Fleetwood Mac, but not willing to pay those prices and travel all the way to Boston, so saw TUSK (A great tribute band) in Plymouth NH on 9/26/15. All the hits, plus a few surprises especially a medley of "Oh Well/Black Magic Woman"

Saw The March Violets with opening band Pawns yesterday. Pawns were decent and The March Violets were awesome, sort of. They have two singers and the guy was obviously not able to be nearly animated as he was 30 years ago. The woman was amazing, still had all of it. Some of the songs they did, though, were off of their latest album which came out about two years ago maybe 20-25 years after they stopped. Its was not very good.
The bassist for Pawns was wonderful to watch. She has great straight black hair and was slightly shaking it while rocking to the music. While listening to Pawns I hear Joy Division, Corpus Deliciti, and Danse Society without synthesizers. The March Violets are the March Violets, pioneers of goth and all that.

Saw KASHMIR again 10/10 and wife and I saw BJ Thomas this weekend. He may be in his 70's, but still nailed it.

FryeDwight 12-04-2015 06:57 AM

Wife and I saw The Smithereens 11/13/15..great as always.

FryeDwight 03-18-2016 05:33 AM

Mark Farner (mainman/gtr for Grand Funk Railroad on 3/12/16. Mark still talks like a hippie ("Brothers and Sisters! I can FEEL the love in the Room!"), but played great and quite energetic.

Ah. I didn't know that.

FryeDwight 12-06-2016 05:53 AM

The Wizards of Winter- Similar in scope to Trans-Siberian Orchestra (and indeed having a few ex members on board), but just fine on their own. Very intricate and well played by all 11 members. 12/4/16

Elvis_Christ 03-24-2017 03:55 PM

The Pixies

FryeDwight 09-29-2017 05:40 AM

UFO/Saxon 9/28/17. Both were very good.

Seeing Kashmir tomorrow night.

FryeDwight 10-03-2017 05:33 AM

Kashmir 9/30/17

Absolutely great...some really deep cuts and rocking performances by them.

FryeDwight 11-18-2017 06:19 AM

Blue Oyster Cult on 10/14/17...still put on a good show.

FryeDwight 04-01-2018 01:09 AM

Blue Oyster Cult...again! This time in Keene NH
Better show than last time

FryeDwight 04-22-2018 03:31 AM

Kashmir again..this time in Claremont NH
Great set as usual with "No Quarter" sounding fantastic.

FryeDwight 05-04-2018 12:09 AM

Patty Smyth and Scandal-Tupelo Derry NH 4/29/18

New Tupelo a very nice venue and PS was great! Voice still strong, still adorably cute and lots of energy/chatter. All the hits, plus powerful covers in "Paint It, Black" and "River Deep, Mountain High"

FryeDwight 06-16-2018 11:43 PM

Poison/Cheap Trick/Pop Evil on 6/15/18.
Good shows by all three::cool::

FryeDwight 06-23-2018 11:36 PM

Barry Goodreau's Engine Room 6/23/18. Really good retro of all of Barry's career from Boston, his 1980 solo Lp, Orio n The Hunter, RTZ, Delp and Goodreau and Engine Room.

FryeDwight 07-15-2018 12:04 AM

Jim Messina 7/14/18. Really good show with Messina and exceptional band providing a solid night of music. Meet and greet afterwards.

FryeDwight 07-30-2018 11:12 PM

B.J Thomas 7/28/18. Excellent show and even if the man is in his mid 70's, voice still strong and vibrant. Very good band aided immeasurably a three piece Horn section. Second row almost dead center after eating out made this a nice Date night with the wife.

FryeDwight 08-04-2018 11:39 PM

Justin Hayward 8/4/18. Great show by Moody Blues mailman, with his solo work and many MB songs included.

FryeDwight 08-11-2018 12:58 AM

Collective Soul/Soul Asylum-8/10/18. SA were OK, CS rocked it and had an almost psychedelic screen presentation enhanced by Ed Roland (My wife was amazed at how much he looks like Joe Walsh now::shocked::) constantly flashing the "Peace" sign. Three Doors Down were the headliner, but it's been a long week and didn't want to fight the crowd on the way out, so just these two.

FryeDwight 10-23-2018 11:30 PM

John Lodge-10/19/18. Pretty rocking set by Moody Blues bassist/vox.

FryeDwight 11-06-2018 11:34 PM

BLUE OYSTER CULT-Capital Center for the Arts, Concord NH 11/3/18

Third time in a little over a year and they just keep getting better. After a employee of the Cap Center laid out basic info, another guy came out to introduce the Brooks Young Band. BYB were all decent players with about 5 songs and good covers of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Miss You". Probably the most CHEERFUL band I've ever seen, lots of big grins.

Although BOC played a lot of what You would expect, they played with true passion (Even the dull "Buck's Boogie" was helped by some new arrangements, including a Deep Purple-Ash GTR/Keys back and forth and little Bass/Drum Solos) and raiding the songbook with rarely played songs lately like "Career of Evil", "Dancing in The Ruins", "ETI", "OD'ED on Life Itself" and the magnificent "Hot Rails to Hell". During "Don't Fear The Reaper", the same guy who had introduced Brooks Young was onstage playing Cowbell. Wife found out the next day, it was NH Governor Chris Sununu, which I guess is one way to inspire votes.

BudMan 03-02-2019 08:08 PM

Tonight...Bonnie Raitt & James Taylor

Bonnie Raitt was excellent....almost seventy and she sounds great and plays a mean slide guitar.....James Taylor is like comfort food for the ears and hasn’t lost a beat either.

FryeDwight 03-08-2019 07:58 PM

American Vinyl All Star Band-Flying Monkey, Plymouth Nh 3/8/19. A sort of Sup er Group with Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Doobies, Steely Dan, many sessions) and Barry Goudreau (Boston, RTZ, Orion The Hunter) on GTRS with Leroy Romans (The Wailers) on keyboards, Tim Archibald (RTZ, Peter Wolf) on Bass, Robert "Mousey" Thompson (James Brown, Wilson Pickett) on drums and Danny Beissel (Featherborn, Foster Child) on vocals. Really tight rocking show of material from all their careers with "No Woman No Cry". "I Feel Good", "My Old School" "Night Train/Land of 10000 Dances", "Blush" and "A Man I'll Never Be' standing out. Nice meet and greet afterwards
