The Haunting of Hill House

New series on Netflix, will drop on Friday, October 12.

Is anyone planning to watch it? I hope they don't screw it up.

Very interested in this. I'll be checking it out.

Me too. I'm actually looking forward to it. And hoping I don't get disappointed.

This show is excellent!

I binged the entire season (10 episodes) over the weekend. Actually, most of it on Saturday. Loved it! Excellent series! Now, I've never read the book or seen the original movie (The Haunting). I don't know how those of you who have will feel about it. I think it's amazing. Highly recommended.

10/10

Glad you loved it!

I'll check it out. It's written and directed by Mike Flanagan, and I like his work.

I'm a little hesitant because I read TV series description, which is different than I hoped. The original novel (Shirley Jackson), and the original film "The Haunting (1963)", center around a Dr. Montague who hopes to find scientific evidence of the existence of the supernatural. And it appears the TV series doesn't have that at all, right?

Still, if it's actually shot in the real Hill House... it's a stunning house.

HammerFan, I think you'd really like The Haunting 1963. It's apparently a different story than the TV series.

You can stream it from amazon.com for $3. You just pull up The Haunting 1963 in Prime Video dept. Just a regular account.

Cool. Maybe I'll save it for Halloween night. Watch that and Halloween.

4 episodes in.

If the story had only been about the past this would have been a pretty good show. But the way it’s made I’m bored outa my skull waiting for those few moments.

So far I’m definitely not a fan.

I watched the first ep. It just seemed like it was going to be a slow burn, show there's some disturbing ghost appearances... that's not enough meat for me.

This show is AMAZING. It is one of the best horror series that I have seen in years.
