The Monster

This is a good film driven by very strong performances. The monster does arrive in the fillm's 3rd act but the build up (troubled and complex mother-daughter relationship) is well done & compelling. My only hesitation on the film was its allegorical theme gets a bit ham handed in the last ten minutes or so.

Also streaming on Amazon.

I didnt like this one. Couldnt get behind either of their characters due to one having some harsh acting and the other having no redeeming qualities, just an over terrible person.

Really liked the monster and what it ended up doing but the its fate was kinda weak to me.

4/10 in my opinion

Disagree on acting but totally agree on monster's death - very lame.

I liked it!! The build up was good and the monster was interesting enough to keep me watching it until the end.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the acting was decent, although the story did seem to get taken over by the horrible relationship between the mother and daughter, but it all came together nicely and thier relationship grew well when the monster showed up. Only thing I kept thinking through out was that the mother looked too young to have a 10 year old daughter, but then I figured that she probably had her at a young age which would also explain why she wasn't very motherly seeing as she had to give upo her younth the raise a daughter.
