I haven't seen Ringu but I have seen The Ring. The Ring was not scary at all. That's just my opinion though. I didn't vote but I will once I see Ringu. By the way is Ringu the exact, and I mean exact, same as The Ring like it has the same people and all that except it's in japenese? Just curious.

i think that The Ring is better,,,

I much prefer the orginal Japanese version - it blows the Hollywood remake out of the water.

But for those of you who like your horror movies with blood, gore special effects and action, you probably won't like it.

However, if like me you like psychological 'ghost' stories then this is for. Don't be put off by the subtitles - you get used to them.

You all know the story line but the original plays more on Japanese mythology. It is fantastically shot and directed with suspense building up all through it. Just when you thought it was over, there is a truly terrifying scene which, whilst not making my hair stand on end , did make my skin crawl.

Since watching the film I haven't developed phobias about phones or TVs, or been kept awake at night, but the film stands out vividly in my memory still and that one scene still gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Most terrifying movie I've ever watched? Possibly.

Tip: watch it on your own, at night.
