Any good recent horrors in the last 10 years.

Hi i'm looking for any really good horror movies that have came out in the last 10 years. Preferably horrors that have a high budget i'm not into the low budget horrors.

I'm not too interested in the paranormal or any devil or vampire movies.

I like horrors with monsters, killer croc and shark movies and i really enjoy slashers.

My favourite horror is The Descent.

I prefer movies to have a modern setting and i like horrors where there is a female lead and she is just trying to escape and survive. My type of go to horror is where there is just a guy going about killing everyone lol

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I've seen vacancy and hush

I've noticed a lot of people mention bone tomahawk, I think I'll need to check that one out.

When it comes to foreign movies I'm not too interested in them to be honest, I really need to change my ways because I know I'm missing out on so many good movies.

I thought Bone Tomahawk was OK. It's, more or less, an original subject, with big actors and production value (Hollywood budget). Lot's of folks here liked it a lot.

Train to Busan is good and funny too. As long as you don't mind reading subtitles. It's not heavy on dialogue.

What'd ya think of Vacancy and Hush?

Hush wasn't too bad, i do like that kinda creepiness in movies when someones being watched and they don't even know it.

I can't remember much about vacancy it was a while ago i seen it.

I downloaded some new horrors the other night there:

Bereavement - 2007

Ghost Stories - 2017

Open 24 Hours - 2020

Rare Exports A Christmas Tale - 2010

Triangle - 2009

Us - 2019

I have Ghost Stories in my Netflix list. I saw Rare Exports a few years ago: Pretty interesting. Don't know those other ones. If you check out BoneTomahawk, let me know what ya think.

To be honest I think the 2010s were a great decade for horror. For all the shit they out out, I think Blumhouse is to thank for it. Again - plenty is shit, but their model of "here's some money, do your idea we trust you" seems to work well. None of these are particularly niche, so forgive me if you know them all already.

Don't Breathe
Invisible Man
Happy Death Day (this is horror lite, but great fun)
The Belko Experiment
Halloween 2018
Ma (some don't care for it - as a guy who used to go to extreme lengths to drink as a teen, it was all too real)
10 Cloverfield Lane

I also thoroughly enjoyed Doctor Sleep, even though it was a financial flop.

Here's some other horror movies you might enjoy: Summer Of 84, Hell Fest, The Ranger, Strangers Prey At Night. These are some new slasher movies. You may or may not enjoy them.
