Fire Victim Identified; Perp & Motive A Mystery
In May, Cape Code police found the unidentified body of a man who had been tied to a tree and set on fire while he was alive. ( Story here.)
This weekend, they announced that they'd identified the body as that of a 28-year-old Bosnian man whose name has not yeet been released. From the news:

Officials declined to release the man's identity.
Neither Barnstable police nor the Barnstable district attorney's office was available to comment on the case Saturday. District attorney Michael O'Keefe's office is expected to provide more details during a press conference on Monday.
The man's badly burned body was found May 17 tied to a tree by Barnstable police and firefighters responding to reports of a brush fire in a conservation area north of Mary Dunn Road. Nearby were a half-eaten apple, a fuel container and some men's clothing folded into a pile.
An autopsy determined that some type of accelerant was used and the man had been alive when set afire.
Since May, Barnstable and state police have pored over lists of missing persons in an attempt to identify the victim.
Earlier this month, state police received a call from someone in Chicago saying a relative, a 28-year-old man, had not returned to Bosnia at the end of the summer as planned.
