ST: Discovery...cancelled or what?
 

So what's happening with Disco then?

Have they officially called it cancelled?

I noticed the episode that went up on netlix last (season 2, episode 5? I think) is now being called the "season finale", after having more than double that in the first season.

Guy who's playing Pike made some tweet implying he was out of the job.

No news on a third season, or a pick up of any kind.

It's kind of too bad if it's fucked off...I like the show...in fact I think that it's the first time a show like Star Trek has went in a new direction that I've actually thought was for the better.
I mean not every episode was absolute gold, and there's one or two characters I could stand to lose...but still.

I'd say a bit of lash-out from Star Trek purist nerds might have given this one trouble, sadly it seems like they'd rather "more of the same", or nothing, the amount I've heard the bitchy little weiners carry on about this one.

Ah well, more sci-fi killed before it's time. Huge surprise.

I hadn't heard it was cancelled. I'll have to do some research.

Some story lines were better than others. I was bored to tears to see the Dr come back in the spore-world... and that on top of I wasn't into the red-head's invisible friend story. The Spock and Red Angel story is interesting, but they sure were poking around about it.

Must be an Aussie thing... Disco isn't on US netflix. I don't see any info it's been cancelled. S2 is set for 14 eps.

Ha, I didn't wanna bring negativity to it.

I think it's just "rumoured" at this point, but things seem to be pointing to that...or they're doing some kind of complete restructure due to a pretty weak season 2 opening. I think Pike has been good, but yeah they need...something...I think maybe they had the temporary peace with the klingons happen a bit too early?
Like they put the threat aside, but haven't really come up with anything to replace it.

With you on Tilly. She should have stayed a side character a bit longer.

Yeah I'm not sure what happened there.
It's been updating with a new episode on the weekly...it's just that for some reason put "season finale" on episode 5.
I'm assuming now it's just a fuck up of some sort.

So it's been confirmed there'll at least be a season 3 thus far.
