AMERICAN GOTHIC (1995-1996)

Has any seen the short lived TV series American Gothic which ran for 22 episodes from 1995-1996.?

It was created by Shaun Cassidy (Hardy Boy Mysteries)

It was classified as horror/drama/ thriller.

The story took place in the fictitious town of Trinity, supposedly in South Carolina.

The plot

People in this town follow the calling of Sheriff Lucas Buck. He controls the town.

Lucas's son, Caleb, was led to believe that he was the son of Gage, and was raised by another family.

The local doctor gets curious when Lucas want everything to do with his son, Caleb. Caleb's cousin,Gail Emory comes to town to protect Caleb, but unfortunately falls in love with Lucas. But also on Caleb's side is his dead sister, Merlyn, and she is an angel and is prepared to do ANYTHING to keep Lucas away from Caleb.

The IMBD rates this one 8.2/10. I have the series and enjoyed it very much

Wondered if anyone else had seen this series and what are your thoughts on it.

I remember watching this, and "kindred - the embraced" at about the same time.
I now have the American Gothic Boxset.
Some annoyances with inconsistent episode order towards the end...but yes, very good show, has been few others like it.
I've heard some relate it to carnivale in some ways, others to elements of "american horror story", but in my mind it's superior to both.
Not quite horror, but not unlike horror either.
Great show, with IMO an excellent conclusion.
