The Ring Book

Oppsss... I meant the book. I was thinking to much on something else... Has anyone ever read the book?

I read it. It was a book before it was a film, only recently translated into English. Weirdly enough there are at least three or four of them, I think. The sequel is being translated right now.

The book is not really horror - postmodern sci-fi, maybe? It's not a bad book, but I did prefer the movie. It does seem kind of clumsy... supposedly translating Japanese to English can come out a little awkward.

There's a lot of background in the book that takes away from the movie. For instance:

SPOILER

In the book we find out that Sadako is a hermaphrodite. I don't think I needed to know that... nothing against hermaphrodites... it just seems like more info than the character needed.
