New movie from HEREDITARY director Ari Aster

MIDSOMMAR

A couple travels to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival, but what begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

Described as "The Wizard of Oz for perverts".

Ari Aster's visual references for his Scandinavian folk horror are Black Narcissus (1947), Hard to Be a God (2013), Macbeth (1971), and Tess (1979).

Will Poulter has said the film is better than Hereditary

According to Ari Aster, this was meant to be his first horror movie since Hereditary was intended to just be a family drama.

Two more sleeps.....::love::

I want to see Midsommar too. I really dug Hereditary and I have no clue as to where the story is going to go with the pagan theme but I expect a sacrifice like the Wicker Man.
