Keep trying, buddy. Success is gained through perseverance.

Trying small presses?

Do they give you good feedback at least?

MichaelMyers 05-16-2015 04:35 AM

Ignore the criticisms and send it back out. They'll only slow you down.

Jake.Ashworth 05-18-2015 04:35 AM

Feedback is nil. Typically its just a generic "Sorry, this isn't what we are looking for." Email. I have been sending it to everyone I think may read it. But Ill keep at it, I would love it if any of them would give me some ideas but nada. I sent out to some agents as well. Its the waiting that sucks, it takes months to get a response sometimes. Lol, regardless, I am persistent. Like I said from the beginning though, I didn't write it for money or even to get it published, I wrote it for fun. Unfortunately there is an allure to seeing it in paper with a publisher stamped on it.

Given any thought to the headshot on the dust jacket?

Yeah, I've got a good one, just haven't made any changes. Work has been brutal, I haven't even been able to write lately. I have a ton of ideas and I have written a lot of it in my head, but pen to paper hasn't happened.
