Horror-movie reference guides...

Anyone have a favorite, like Phil Hardy's Film Encyclopedia, The Psychotronic Video Guide, Spaghetti Nightmares, Video Trash and Treasures or whatever else floats your boat? Maybe even a simple Leonard Maltin movie guide? I go for Phil when I want a serious review, and to Michael Weldon when I want to know how many breast shots are in a movie.

I've got several good ones, but Creature Features takes the cake.

Creature Features is rather sparing on the reviews, but I love Stanley for listing all the alternative titles. That really makes hunting down a movie a lot easier. And it is damn comprehensive!!!! Everyhting is in that book!!!!!

Precisely why I love it. I've only found two titles that weren't in the book so far.

For reviews I tend to trust The Horror Show by Mike Mayo.

I've got a few main movie references. An older Leonard Maltin, the VideoHound guides (one just for indie film), Horror Movies by Alan Frank (mostly Hammer/Amicus era), Psychotronic.

My favorite movie books right now are a series called Necronomicon, edited by Andy Black. They are high-brow critical analyses of horror films. Hard to find (I still don't have Vol 3) but worth it.

Spaghetti Nightmares is great. I have a few of the Joe Bob books, which get irritating after a while. Am interested in tracking down the Chainsaw Companion that Dr. K mentioned in another thread.
