This is what I call a "fun" movie. Not an academy award winner, but an enjoyable piece of hokum! Mantan Moreland who was Birmingham Brown in the Charlie Chan series is in it as well as Henry Victor ( the villian) who played the strongman and boyfirend of Olga in the film Freaks. It's available on Alpha Video for about $5.95. The film quality is fairly decent One of the best zombie films ( in the golden era) was I Walked With A Zombie. a Val Lewton film. Well, if you will pardon me I am on the way to my creaky old rocking chair, sitting down, straightening my dress, fixing my shawl, lighting my pipe and having a nice glass of claret. I will now turn down the lights and watch Night of the Demon! Hee hee hee! http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...annyLou2-4.jpg The Countess Marya |
Oh, yeah, King of the Zombies is actually a lot of fun. Definitely.

I''ve never seen it and I love zombie films. I guess maybe I should look into that and I walked with a Zombie. <-- maybe this is a newfound love for Zombies... Any other good titles I should look for?

I Walked With A Zombie is a great Val Lewton file. It is very atmospheric, great film shots and at times quite scary. It is available on DVD coupled with The Body Snatcher (Boris Karloff) Another great atmospheric and unusual zombie film is White Zombie (1932) with Bela Lugosi. I hope you enjoy them! http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...sPosingF-8.jpg Countess Marya:) |
Sounds great. Thanks Countess.

No, really, King of the Zombies is fun. It's even referenced in Shaun of the Dead...
