Dementia 13

Anyone seen Dementia 13? It's one of the earliest slasher movies and it's directed by Francis Ford Coppola. I enjoyed it but wanted to hear other's opinions of it. It had one major flaw keeping me from loving it.

what is that flaw..??? I love it this movie .. I bought a copy of this movie from wal-mart years ago and it was the uncut version well nothing was really cut from the original except for a boobie shot...

I think it would be a perfect slasher flick, but you can see the killer's face. I felt totally ripped off. They should have covered him with just a little bit more shadow.

yeah that is true... but I still think it was a great film from that time :D

I borrowed this from Avenger00soul once but never ended up watching it because my VCR was a whore.

Well, I still got it. Too bad your VCR is still a whore.

Got this movie. It was in a double-pack along with another very good movie, Night Of The Living Dead, and I must say it was well worth it.

The decapitation scene in this flick is classic. :p

I believe it's one of the earliest decapitation scenes in a horror flick. I can't think of ever seeing one before this flick.

Dementia 13 is a great film. I would bet that they had to show the killer's face just because of the technical limitations at the time - they were shooting at night with very high-contrast film - and it's likely that in those conditions, either you see everything or you see nothing.

I do wish the second underwater scene was a little clearer. However, I've only seen crummy PD transfers of it - is there a DVD that actually has a good transfer?

Coppola is such a dink. He probably made that movie for $25 and it's great. How much do you think they spent on Bram Stoker's Dracula, which IMHO is not as good? Fun to watch, but not scary.
