Just recieved two Jean Rollen encore sets

Just got the Encore 3 disk sets of 'La Morte Vivante' and 'Requiem Pour Un Vampire' and have to tell you about them :)

If you like Rollin, these should be an essential purchase. If you don't like Rollin that much, then you should still consider them. They are the most attractive DVD release I have yet to see and beat even the LOTR special editions (not on supplemental material, but on packaging).

They come in a very beautiful slipcase which has new artwork that far outshines all other releases of these films. Digipack is of the four disk size (like LOTR 4 disk edition), but only contains three disks (1 for film, 1 for extras and 1 for the soundtrack CD). The pack also contains a glossy full colour booklet. The booklet is a proper squarebound 60-70 page paperback type, not some stapled pamphlet thing. Plus it's in English which I was worried about as this is in fact a dutch release I think...?

The extras are good, but not great. They are mostly in the form of live interviews with the people involved, but are quite lengthy, indepth and interesting. I wish that there were subtitles for Jean Rollins interview, as he was difficult to understand even though he was speaking English.

I'll probably get 'Levres de Sang' next, but not sure about 'Les Demoniaques' as that isn't exactly a landmark title and these extravagant sets should be reserved for important films (plus they are pretty pricey).

I hope Encore have plans to do a release of Fascination...
