Hays' THE DANGEROUS SEX: The Myth of Feminine Evil and Bram Djikstra's IDOLS OF PERVERSITY: Fantasies of Feminine Evil in Fin-De-Siecle Culture. Both are fascinating. (But the Svehla book is drivel.
