Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor
Though these are not films...one could argue every episode is so well-made they are each film-like.
Haunting of Hill House is definitely scarier but the way the story unwinds and hides may fit what you are looking for.
Haunting of Bly Manor is definitely more of a ghost/mystery love story but again...the story hides.
If you haven't seen these I would highly recommend them.
