Yeah they do pander to a tipical male fantasy. Still sex does sell movies, and it doesn't hurt to have some eye candy to help the action, IMO.
Still think how often pleasure droids have been used in movies, Bladerunner, AI, even Reiss in Aliens 3 is heard to say "like you never fucked a machine" refering to droids.
The worst one of all.....the downfall of civilization in Futurama because a guy wanted to make out with his Monroe Bot.
