the two camps
Every time a new book on pathology, with pictures, is bought by the library where I work (University of New Haven), the staff divides into two parties: those who are gloating over the icky pictures, and those who are staying well away.
Usually, the one who really wants to see the pictures is P (Not her real initial). One day we were discussing recent horror movies in the break room. P came over and joined the discussion, and started to talk about movies, and then about gory true crimes. We all said "Ick! Don't give us the details. All we need to know is that there was a gruesome murder.
