Yeah, that is bizarre (the chests), even a Yeti would cause soft tissue trauma.

Oh, I see, if there was an avalanche that crushed them while they were in the tent, and then they cut it open and fled... maybe because they feared another avalanche was imminent. If that were the case the crushing of chests and skull fractures make sense. But then they would have had to drag the three or so peps, who were basically dead, down to the tree line. Would they drag them, but not even bother to put a coat and/or shoes on? Maybe.

On Wiki they have a pic of the tent exactly how they found it. It's collapsed, but it just looks like it had a little snow fall on it. I'm no avalanche expert, but depending on how big it was, it would likely have swept the tent down the hill, the way they rip trees out of the ground. Plus, one account reads the experts saw no terrain evidence of an avalanche, but who knows.
