Today is an exciting day.

Today is the day that a colossal box arrived at my front door, return address leading to my Aunt in Tampa. Whenever I get a box from her, it is sure to be something:

A- Horror
B- From a foreign culture
C- Horror from a foreign culture

Today, I opened the box to find.....

20 Stephen King Novels. She finished them all, and wanted me to have them. I'll be starting on The Stand tonight.

:D

Cool.

I actually started reading The Stand again (for the 3rd time) the the other day. The first time it took a while to get into but after that I couldnt put it down.
The Stand, The Shining, and It are probley the top three for me. I actually dont think he's ever written anything I didnt like.

wow!....I've sorta stopped reading Kings books... I actually just sold a few to a local used bookstore and the rest I sent to ChronoGrl,enjoy! There was a few I kept...(either my fav. or they had no dust jacket.. etc.....) but I just lost interest in the books...moved on to other authors I guess...I'll still watch the movies adapted from King's books though.

...Here I was thinking I was coming into a thread about some anniversary of leather undergarments...

Very nice gift though man, see what you make of "Insomnia" if you got that one.
Also, if you haven't read the book version of IT, don't put it off on account of having seen the movie...

IT is my favorite book by King. I've read it at least 5 times... Epic.

Never read The Stand myself. But looking at it, you get that one finished and the rest will be a breeze!

Just started reading IT, it is excellent so far, is there any of his other books that any of you would recommend?

You are in for a blast, there are so many good books there.

Some of my favourites are It, The Stand, 'Salem's Lot, Christine, Hearts in Atlantis, and The Tommyknockers.

Howver, I don't think there was one that I didn't like.

I like most everything he's written, except some of the more drama, less horror stuff. Nothing against it, it's just that when I read King, I want to read about evil clowns and the end of the world.
