The Bride Of Frankenstein (1935)

watched this again after first viewing it several years previously and i have to conclude that it is a classic.
Boris Karloff is amazing as the monster and you've got to hand it to Colin Clive as Doctor Henry Frankenstein.
And of course there is that classic moment in the movie when the monster goes to the old blind man's house..."Smooke...good"

Yes, it is a brilliant horror film. I now can appreciate it, though for years I didn't care for the old Frankenstein movies because I was such a fan of the book and I never felt they really did the book justice. But this one in particular is a great film, I can't really find fault with it except for my own personal bias. But it will never be a favorite of mine. I do love Boris Karloff though. Talk about scary.

I liked this one better than the original Frankenstein. The Universal Legacy collections are awesome for people who are just getting into classic horror. I've got the Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, and Mummy collections.

I agree. These collections effing rule. It used to be, you hadda spend twenty bucks on a single movie (or even more, depending on how far back you are remembering), and now you can spend about that same amount and check out a whole series of films, generally with still galleries, commentaries, and so on. I think Universal does a great job of presenting their films. They look great on DVD.

Universal, Something Weird, Disney and Anchor Bay all put out great video.

Here's a neat tip: If it's summertime and you're feeling a little warm and sweaty, put on a "Creature from the Black Lagoon" film; all that water will cool you off and take your mind off the weather.
