By "literary influences in horror films," I don't mean books that were made into movies, but classic literary horror/Gothic themes, aesthetics, and motifs that have an obvious influence on certain films.
Example: Guillermo del Toro's CRIMSON PEAK, which is obviously influenced by classic Gothic romance---in the very least, the Bronte sisters (WUTHERING HEIGHTS and JANE EYRE) meets Edgar Allan Poe (especially "The Fall of the House of Usher").
