2001 Maniacs (2005)

DESCRIPTION: Once a year the townsfolk, slaughtered during the civil war by Union Troops, rise from the dead to hold their annual festival, during which they lure unsuspecting Yanks into the town and kill them in carnival type events.

ACTORS QUALITY: 4 out of 5

VIOLENCE: 5 out 0f 5

BLOOD: 5 out of 5

GORE: 3 out of 5

SPECIAL EFFECTS: 4 out of 5

THOUGHTS: FOLKS this turned out to be a decent movie, so check it out...It has some pretty good gore scenes and all the deaths are extreme kills, no bull crap killing in this one...Not much of a scare...

I'm curious to see this one! I have a feeling I might like it, especially if I don't expect it to be as good as the first movie. (For a gruesome gore satire, "2000 Maniacs" was pretty entertaining and reeeeally reeeeeally weird!)

You might even call the first movie a "gore classic," I remember seeing it in the late 80's, rented it, and really it is quite something. There is definitely a warped sense of humor at work in this film.

The sequel could never be as good, so I'm expecting an average trip into familiar territory.
