Both my players have USB ports so I can watch stuff off an external storage device. Really handy. It's actually been ages since I've watched something of a disc or tape.

You should tell your "friend" it's immoral and illegal to download movies. SO don't let him know that most Toshiba and Phillips dvd players are capable of this (the ones that say divx or xvid on the box). Phillips even have the ones with the usb ports that Elvis is talking about. Although my "friend" likes to burn his movies. Organizing and figuring out which movies should be burned together is all part of the fun.

Yes it is indeed illegal and immoral to do what my "friend" is doing so I'll be sure to tell him that after I've told him everything you said. Philips with USB ports that play divx or xvid are the sort he was after thanks :)
