BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!



The loud buzz literally shook the entire chamber. The glass shelves parted and both men lunged forward. Almost immediately, Milktoaste flew towards his right and kicked Scouse hard. Scouse was in mid-stride towards Door #2, and caught the blow right on his chest. Surprised, he flew to his right and fell down.

Milktoaste was off in a flash and quickly grabbed the shining object almost at the same time Scouse fell to the floor. Scouse gasped and looked forward. Milktoaste had reached Door #2, and was staring wickedly at the object.





Scouse tried to yell and lunge forward, but Milktoaste had grabbed the BFG off the clamps and was holding it in his hands. Scouse looked on in vain, and blinked once. Milktoaste turned to Scouse.

"And this is where, amigo, the story changes!" Milktoaste smiled wickedly at Scouse, who looked at the BFG in Milktoaste's hands and closed his eyes for a moment in sheer despair.

Milktoaste grinned widely, and pointed the BFG right at Scouse Mac. Aiming at his head, Milktoaste pulled the trigger.

Scouse gritted his teeth and grunted once, prepared for instant death. The loud click broke a fresh row of sweat across his forehead as he took a long breath to look back at Milktoaste holding the BFG.

Milktoaste looked totally amazed. He was staring at the BFG in wild confusion.

"It wont fire in your hands, Milktoaste!" the voice boomed around them again. "The trigger has been tuned to match Scouse's finger and thumb prints. Only he can fire his chosen weapon. Like you!"

Milktoaste looked at Scouse and back at the BFG in sheer surprise. Scouse was wiping his forehead as he was getting up. Milktoaste threw the BFG backwards and jumped across the room towards the Minigun. Scouse had recovered by then, and grabbed at the BFG which had fallen to the floor.

'Prints matched - Scouse Mac!" a small, robotic message came out of the BFG. Then it started with a low hum and whir, like it was charging up. Scouse felt the BFG in his hands, and a big wave of confidence ran through his entire body. His face broke out into a hardened smile.


BLAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTT!!!


The BFG roared out its first blast. The big, bright-blue and luminiscent beam tore across the room towards Milktoaste who jumped to one side without looking back. The beam blasted through the left wall, and melted it.

Scouse stood more confidently now. Milktoaste had recovered and was almost by the Minigun's side. Scouse aimed.


BLAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTT!!!


The luminiscent blue beam made a beeline for Milktoaste's chest and Milktoaste swerved across to the table. Almost immediately, Milktoaste kicked the table towards Scouse. The table hit Scouse and he reeled backwards. Milktoaste took this chance and literally flew towards the Minigun.

He whirled around, starting his deadly weapon simultaneously. His right index finger had circled around the trigger of the Minigun, which was pointed directly at Scouse.

BLAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTT!!!


The pale, luminiscent blue beam flew out of the BFG's barrel as if in slow-motion, and tore across the room straight at the Minigun in Milktoaste's hands. It sizzled through the Minigun, melting the huge, six-barreled monster gun and blasted right through Milktoaste, thundering its way out of the wall behind him.

Scouse dropped the BFG.

Milktoaste stood, open-mouthed. The half-melted Minigun was still in his hands. Slowly, those hands lost their grip and the Minigun fell heavily to the floor. Milktoaste reached for his belly, and found a big, fused smoking hole in the centre of his body. He touched it once, looked at Scouse and fell backwards.

Scouse was breathing heavily. He looked on as Milktoaste's hands stopped shaking, and his eyes slowly started to glaze over.


MILKTOASTE IS DEAD!!!!!





A loud whirr interrupted Scouse's thoughts as the walls on all sides of the room rolled backwards. The soldiers came forward, then parted outwards into two neat lines. Someone familiar walked through between them directly towards Scouse.




"V!" Scouse exclaimed.

"My friend, CONGRATULATIONS! You are the WINNER OF HDC BATTLE ROYALE II!!" ___V___ smiled and hugged Scouse.

Scouse smiled. ___V___ turned around and picked up the trophy from a tray beside him.





He handed it to Scouse. The soldiers lifted their guns and stood with them crossed high above their heads, as if in a respected salute.

"You also get the official badge," ___V___ was smiling as he brought it forward to pin it on Scouse's chest on the left side.





"The chopper is ready and waiting to take you back to the mainland," ___V___ said. "Better pack up and head for it."

Scouse smiled and shook hands with ___V___. "Wont you be joining me?" he asked with a grin.

___V___ grinned back, then his face hardened. "No," the reply was grim and tense as he stared into the distance, "I got some unfinished business to deal with."


Scouse was confused for an instant. ___V___ looked back at him and smiled, then gave him a thumbs-up. He then walked through the soldiers, who started chanting while looking at Scouse...


"ALL HAIL THE KING!! ALL HAIL THE KING!!
ALL HAIL THE KING!! ALL HAIL THE KING!!"


The chants resonated throughout the compound. A pair of shiny, extremely sharp and pointed teeth watched the scene from a distance.



Just then, a buzz reverberated across its owner's body.
