Nosferatu is great, but the copy I bought has some terrible band like Korn or something doing some bullshit behind it. The cover didn't mention the "updating" of the soundtrack, or I would definitely not have bought it. Still fun to watch on mute, though.

One night a few Halloweens ago they ran a double bill on PBS of Nosferatu and Phantom of the Opera--the silent version--and they both had very haunting background music.
I recorded them both--both good movies but the music won't let me go to sleep.

The silent one has been released in recent times with a soundtrack supplied by Type O Negative.

"Nosferatu" is one of the true greats of horror cinema. The father of all vampire movies. It still holds up very well considering it was made in 1922. Director F.W. Murnau creates a chilling Gothic atmosphere and Max Schrek is brilliant. Totally convincing.
