That's good to know. I came across a cheap DVD of this movie recently and still haven't watched it. I will crack it open this weekend and check it out. :)

You know, I realized a few days back that Ive never actually seen a war movie. Ive seen plenty that have war as a backdrop (Casablanca, Pan's Labyrinth, ect.) but no actual war movies.

I've been thinking about picking up that "Dossier" edition of Apocalypse Now, its pretty cheap...so is Full Metal Jacket.

I'll use this thread for ideas, thanks Alky:)

Personally, I don't like war movies...

BUT...I was very surprised that I really DID like Good Morning, Vietnam...And, I liked it a LOT :)

It really is a very good movie

It is a very good movie, Rayne. And there isn't a thing wrong with not liking war movies. Usually, they're either your cup of tea or they aren't, end of story.

Return: Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket are great ones to start out with. You can usually pick up Platoon pretty cheap, too, try that one. I got it for $6.99 a couple of nights ago. Great flick.
