Descent was scary. That would get my vote. I didn't find the Ring scary and the crowds kind of annoyed me because they screamed and I was like...WTF the character walked by a tree. What was so scary about that? I saw it again just because I was afraid I was having an off night. Oh well, too each his own.

As far as the overall fear, I think Paranormal Activity was scarier than The Ring. More frequent in the ghostly goings on.

I think every scary film needs a creepy looking Ghost (not creature) with some solid amount of sudden scares as the story progress.
