just because its part of the story doesn't mean its part of the franchise.

Well I didnt take the time to read this whole thread but I'm going to throw my two cents in anyways. Forgive me if I am repeating stuff that's already been said...

I am stoked if this all actually goes through. QT is an awesome director that could spark some life back into a series that was once pretty sweet, but has since kind of fallen off... (Jason X is good for a few laughs and that's about it.) QT could make this series kick ass again! And quite possibly even respark a lot of public interest in the slasher genre as a whole. (That means we would get a whole slew of new slasher films. Some would inevitably suck, but who knows? Maybe the next Halloween is right around the corner and a successful QT Friday the 13th could be just what it needs to get off the ground and into production.

That's my take.

I'm not huge of fan everything QT has done, but he does do violence well and this franchise needs that back. Over the sequels it has evolved into cartoon violence and the scares have dwindled. I think he can bring back the frights that we came to expect decades ago.

Not a fan of everything he's done, eh?

I struggle to anything he's been directly a part of (And not just lent his name to for production) anything less than awesome.

Reservoir Dogs
True Romance
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill

Not to mention, From Dusk Til Dawn and 4 Rooms.

I'm not putting you down or anything because you're entitled to an opinion too, but I'm just curious... Which of those weren't you a fan of and why?

He may dislike most of Qt's stuff for the same reason i do:

they are all Style over Substance

This is the same reason i dont care for italian or Japanese movies for the most part.

I've only seen parts of it, but i did like what i saw. I laughed hysterically when deniro shot bridget fonda. That was definatley a cathartic moment.

No ! vs is a new serie....but you probably mean that "Jason vs Freddy" is "Friday the 13 part 11" and "Nightmare on elm
street 8" .....but its not....They even talk about a sequel to "Jason vs Freddy"...but you would probably call it :
"Friday the 13 part 12 vs Nightmare on elm street 9" :D

Loved Reservoir Dogs and True Romance(but this was written by QT, not directed by him , so technically it is a "Tony Scott film"), thought Pulp Fiction was entirely overrated, never managed to sit through all of Jackie Brown or any of Kill Bill. From Dusk Til Dawn was sort of two movies. It started out as one movie and ended as another, but I'm not against that per say. Parts of it were totally unecessary. 4 Rooms was one of the most underrated (a lot of people have never even heard of it) movies. Funny as hell.

What specifically didn't I like about Pulp Fiction of Jackie Brown? I couldn't really say. They just did nothing for me. I wasn't all that entertained.
