Most people, outside of pure horror movie fans, don't even know who Ash is or what Evil Dead is. Ash has no box office power. AOD was a box office disaster. New Line isn't dumb enough to ever put "Ash" in a big movie. Only Freddy, Jason, Michael, Leatherface and Pinhead can compete in vs. movies staring horror characters and make them profitable.

Freddy vs Mrs Doubtfire Jason vs Kevin (home alone 5, this time, he'll need more than paint cans..) Leatherface vs My little pony Michael vs Jay and Silent Bob (Dude, that fucker looks like mother fuckin bill shatner! It's captain kirk with a knife!. Snoogens) Best of all: Pinhead vs The Bradys ("Fuck you guys, your life sucks already, and hell is bad enough without you....Scre you guys, I'm going home")

If they do this how the hell are they going to tie all these characters together..?? I do know that The book of the dead was used in Jason goes to hell. But still how would it tie together..?? What, all of them get caught in a black hole and fall into year 4567..?

I've heard this rumor too, all I can say if Ash is cast in it, he better be played by Bruce Campbell...
Otherwise that would just completely ruin it. Even more so.
