28 Days?

Dawn of the Dead?

House of the Dead?

Resident Evil?

Shaun of the Dead?

I'm not going to argue the relative merits or lack thereof of those four movies, but they are zombie movies.

I guess you're right but the kind of movies I meant was the ones when they go after brains!

I wasn't really too impressed by either version, honestly. I prefer the older merely because the ending was such a shock and a disappointment. After everything that he lived through, it ended the way it did.

I liked the ending of the newer because it showed what humans probably would do. It was depressing, but true.

The above posts are a great commentary on the new horror movie. Give me more gore! But to this old horror hound, NotLD '68 is THE horror movie of the millenium. You have to put it in context. It was 1968 for chrissakes. This movie broke new ground in the horror experience. The black and white filming, used because of finances according to GAR, made this film have it's creepy feel. The darkness and shadows just made that little farmhouse more lonely. And a black man the only one to survive, and then be cut down? What a commentary.

Romrero has often said that each of the dead movies tend to reflect the era ot was made in.

Racial issues in the 60's

Beginning of rampant commercialism in the 70's ( The mall and how people n a mall tend to act like zombies, singleminded on their goal)

And the paranoia of the Cold War in the 80's

And I believe that this is true also of the remake, though I believe that romero and Savini were ahead of the times a bit with the resurrgence of racial tensions and the dawning of the tough females and an outcry of women role models.

Interesting to see if that holds true to the remake since neither are involved

The whole trilogy kicks ass imo, and no other zombie movies have stood the test of time like Romero's.
