SECOND ANNUAL HORROR EVENT!

Cinema's Most Recognizable Horror Characters to Haunt the Falls Horror Fest

(Niagara Falls, ON) January 10 -- The Falls Horror Fest, taking place inside the Niagara Falls Comic Con, announced its “Haunted Killers of Cinema” theme which will include original iconic movie prop from the Stephen King cult classic, Maximum Overdrive. The 10,000 square foot event, entering its second year, will include celebrity guests from famed horror franchises.

A number of cinema's masked killers will be attending the event including Tyler Mane, known for the roles of Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's Halloween and Sabretooth in the first installment of the blockbuster X-Men franchise. Derek Mears donned the iconic Jason Voorhees hockey mask in the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface, portrayed by R.A. Mihailoff in the third cult classic, will also be appearing at the event.

Joining the three masked men is veteran actor Tony Todd, who established himself as a legend of horror for his roles in Candyman, as the title ghost who haunts those who chant his name, and William Bludworth, the creepy mortician who teaches the rules of death in the Final Destination series.

"We're very excited to have four men who have portrayed some of the most recognizable faces in horror," said James Ponce, organizer of the Horror Fest. "With our event now growing to three days, it only made sense for us to expand and add more horror celebrities and attractions. We're excited for horror fans to see the exhibitors, rare movie props, memorabilia, artists, movie posters, special effects items, and participate in the free Q&A sessions."

Special Make-Up Effects Designer Paul Jones, whose resume ranges from the classic second and third Hellraiser movies to the most recent Resident Evil hits, will also be making his second appearance at the show. Paul currently is busy at work on the second season of the hit Space series Orphan Black, and just wrapped filming on the hit SyFy television show Defiance.

The Falls Horror Fest has also added the first-ever Canadian convention appearance of the original eight foot goblin head from Stephen King's 1986 cult classic Maximum Overdrive. This was the original prop attached to the front of a possessed truck. The eyes glowed red when attacks were imminent in Stephen King's only directorial effort to date. Tim Shockey, a Southern Ohio collector, recently restored the goblin head to its original glory. Fans will be able to pose for pictures with this one of a kind horror memento. Although the movie was critically bashed upon its release, it has since gained a large cult following over the years, and the green goblin head has become an iconic piece of horror lore.

Also attending the event is FANGORIA Editor-In-Chief and filmmaker Chris Alexander, whose latest film, Queen of Blood, is currently prepping for the film festival circuit.

The Falls Horror Fest will take place inside the Niagara Falls Comic Con June 6, 7 and 8, 2014, at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls. The event will include over 150,000 square feet featuring more than 200 comic book vendors, artists, free Q&A sessions, workshops, movie screenings, celebrities, memorabilia, movie cars, toys and more. Celebrities confirmed to appear include: William Shatner, "Star Trek", Giancarlo Esposito, "Breaking Bad", Dean Cain, "Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman", Ernie Hudson, "Ghostbusters", WWE wrestling legend Ric Flair, Kevin Sorbo, "Hercules: the Legendary Journeys", Luke Perry and Jason Priestley, "Beverly Hills 90210", Sylvester McCoy, "Dr. Who", STAR WARS actor Peter Mayhew, who portrayed Chewbacca, the first ever Canadian appearance of the cast of AMC's Comic Book Men, and Kevin Eastman, the original co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles .

Sounds like a fantastic time. Can you get me an airfare stipend? I will happily attend.
