My first post here! Hello. I agree about Brides of Dracula - Yvonne Monlaur was stunning, wasn't she? I also really rated David Peel's vampire; it's sad he never continued acting much after this. His Meinster character managed to do what Dracula never did - and put the bite on Van Helsing.
The only thing that disappointed me was the ending. After watching Dracula visibly crumble to dust in the previous film, Meinster just ... well, fell over! I always felt that was a little anti-climactic.

BLACK FRIDAY (1940). Been a long week, work wise and just wanted something short and sweet before bed. This gets a less than stellar rap because Bela/Boris don't have scenes together, but found Stanley Ridges quite good in here. ***

Yeah Stanley Ridges nails it in this - the personality changes are fantastic.
An unrated gem in mu opinion.

THE AMAZING MR. X (1948). While this more noir-ish than scary, there are some supernatural elements here and some great camera work for the time. Good cast includes Turhan Bey (THE MUMMY'S TOMB, THE MAD GHOUL), Lynn Bari (1946's SHOCK with Vincent Price), Kathy O'Donnell (TERROR IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE and really good in THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES) and Richard Carlson (CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, VALLEY OF GWANGI). Not great, but worth checking out. ***

I had this film confused with Dracula -- thinking this one had Drac turning to dust -- but that was Dracula. This one was pretty slow but steady all the way through. It's not scary, or exciting in my opinion.

DEAD MEN WALK (1943). Usual threadbare PRC touches, but decent little vampire film with George Zucco as twin brothers, the evil one being a vampire (George is great here with a cool laugh) and Dwight Frye in a Renfield type role both carrying the film. **1/2
