Insidious, Chapter 3

Enjoyed it. :-)

A solid B horror movie. Would have been a B+ if the plot/tropes hadn't been so "been there, seen that (a zillion times)."

Particularly good imo were the sets, sound, atmosphere, and Lin Shaye's acting.

Lin Shaye definitely stole the show.

Scary as hell! Leigh Whannel knows how to build tension really well, and the new demon is by far the best of the three. I went to a late night showing, so sleep wasn't really a thing last night lol... I also loved the apartment setting because the atmosphere reminded me of Repulsion.

I am very curious of how it will turn out, we don't get in Australia till July. I am a huge fan of James Wan, and Leigh Whannell has pretty much been involved in all of Wan's horror flick (beside The Conjuring which his best I must add).

Does Leigh compare to James?

Yes, I would say Leigh might even rival James.

Overall I enjoyed it. I didn't really care for any of the parts that took place in "the further". I wish there was a little more information on the man who can't breathe as well.

Insidious as a story line in general, I believe is the best there is. Number 3 is a prequel, but not necessarily as the story lines of the movies work out, to me the order they go in to in terms of story is 2-3-1, because in 1 the spirit reader does die in the hands of the old women in the body of the father , and in 3, her old friend show's a picture of the father in the Lambert family, telling the spirit reader of how she helped him and now he's a grown man with sons. So, 3 happens in between 2 and 1
