Friday the 13th? Fright Night? Jacob's Ladder? Total Recall?
Why Hollywood, why?

Why????

Because Hollywood has run out of ideas.

Wont allow outsiders ideas to become reality.

And because the movie going public is stupid to put it lightly.

Oh yeah then theres that whole money thing............

Even when most films with original scripts are doing well? I would rather see a comic book adaptation than remakes of films of the 1990s.

Read this...and tear your hair out...

David Cronenberg has been under attack as of late as most of his classic (and disturbing) horror films are on the remake block.

Today it was revealed that Spyglass Entertainment has acquired the rights to remake Cronenberg's uber-creepy horror classic The Brood, according to Variety. Cory Goodman has been tapped to pen the screenplay. Based on a pitch by Goodman, the psychological/supernatural thriller centers on a woman who undergoes medical treatment that causes her inner rage to physically manifest itself. Creepy monster babies to follow? Let's hope this doesn't end up over at Screen Gems.

A remake of Cronenberg's 1981 film Scanners is also in development, with Darren Lynn Bousman attached to direct for Dimension Films.

All I can say is...WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  :(

How about Escape From New York...as if they didn't fuck that classic up enough with what essentially was a remake, exact same plot, charater types, situations...just toss in some shitty... in Escape From LA.

That's actually a pretty good reason to remake it...

I wish they would remake more movies with potential that fell short instead of the classics which don't need to be touched!

That would be a fantastic idea.Maybe we'll get lucky and Hollywood will catch on to this.I admit whenever there is a remake out that is of a old classic, there is some part of me that wants to see it but at the same time I'm screaming what the hell is wrong with you people.
