You mean like a western island or a tropical island with cowboys?

Just watched Bone Tomahwak - I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Good performances though the whole 'cannibal indian' thing felt a bit undeveloped. Good seeing Kurt Russell in anything.

I liked everything but the ending, which just seemed cliche and a bit anticlimactic. Like they didn't really have a modern approach, or creative way, to resolve the story.

The 7 defending a village against ISIS would be a nifty idea, accept people might get uncomfortable if there was any comic relief. You could go with 7 defending against a remote unnamed warlord group in Africa or Asia.

A western treatment of Most Dangerous Game would be interesting, if not kinda weird. Like a demented Grizzy Adams type of character.

Something Sinister, 2017. 7/10

Maria Olsen as the creepy Aunt.

Clinical, 2017. 7/10

Another made for NetFlix horror movie, this was pretty good. Keep them coming.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, 2016. 6/10

WTF, this took place in America with American wizards. And muggles were called non magi. I need my Witchcraft and Wizardry to be British.

Curse of the Puppet Master
Disappointing. The build up and story were great, there was a great idea that the movie implanted in your head from a series of nightmares that occurred with one character that could have led to a cool climax, but it was just a dead end fucking disappointment.

Nocturnal Animals (2016)

Not bad but found it kind of sad & depressing.

RWD (2015)

Two men disappear into the woods armed with cameras and looking for ghosts, hoping to shoot the latest episode of their ongoing web series about paranormal happenings. Instead they find something different, but equally as unusual.

Most of the time, it was like just another lost in the woods found footage flick. Though quite confusing but the last half was actually kinda interesting as soon as they started to reveal what's actually happening with them. Sadly the annoying cast & crew (the same 2 young guys who did 90% of the job by themselves as their name came repeatedly at the end credit...including story, script, cast, editor, sfx and even boom operator etc.) ruined it from start to finish.

I think not necessarily the setting needs to be an island (like the original story) but obviously with the "no escape but either kill or die" scenario.
While watching M7 remake, I was thinking something like this...in an abandoned mining town, a crazy mine or plantation owner organizing & hosting the game by forcefully making a small group of people (like an apache warrior, a drunk ex-Marshall, a fugitive criminal etc.) to fight against his hired gang of ruthless gunslingers.

Minor comic relief can be added without making anything uncomfortable but Yeah...African or Asian warlord also would work fine for a new treatment for Magnificent 7 film.

Under the Shadow (2016)
I.M.D.B.
As a mother and daughter struggle to cope with the terrors of the post-revolution, war-torn Tehran of the 1980s, a mysterious evil begins to haunt their home.

Solid movie. Really nice to see Iran do a horror movie, the setting of which adds a very different dynamic to the story. Some of the tension works, some of it doesn't, but story and acting were all really good.

Not sure if this counts as a movie, but, went to the theatre last night to watch the season finale of Sherlock. Episode is titled The Final Problem.
