The Innocents (1961)

"The innocents" 1961

The creepiest horror classic iīve seen to date.

Amasing atmosphere and very good acting from the entire cast is the ingredients in this classic.
The story takes place in a giant mansion where a governess for two children becomes convinced that the house and grounds are haunted.

A "must see" for fans of movies with creepy atmosphere and haunted castles.
;)

Damn! I havent seen this movie in years, but I remember it being very spooky, kind of like the Original "The Haunting". If I remember right this film was based on the story "The Turning Of The Screw". This really is a good classic movie

I loved this movie...........loved the book even more though, one of Henry James' best I think. I always believed in the ghosts, but in the book there is a question whether it is just the children. I also was always curious about what was really going on with the kids............is is left to the imagination.

The Innocents

The Innocents is now available on DVD in Australia. For info visit ezydvd.com.au

One of my favourite flix and so much better than Robert Wise's overly praised and badly scripted/acted The Haunting. This film is PERVERSE and works on the imagination long after Mile's little heart has ceased to beat. Best scene, the poetry recital... "What shall I sing to my lord from my window?" Really, really sick!

This is a great one; I still like The Haunting slightly better but this one is creepier overall, I think. And the acting is fantastic. I have never read The Turning of the Screw it is still in my to be read pile. :(
