Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow-- You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? ALL that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand-- How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep--while I weep! O God! Can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save ONE from the pitiless wave? Is ALL that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?

Nice. A Dram Within a Dream is oneof my favorite poems. The Raven is one of the most popular. There's a website with most of his works on it. I'll try to get that for you guys. :p

"The Cask of Amontillado" is my favorite. I still think about it sometimes though I first heard it over twenty years ago.:)

As far as his stories go, I think A Descent into the Maelstrom is my favorite. The imagery is so scary to me, it actually gave me a fear of whirlpools. I guess that's why I stay out of the deep end of the pool now.:p

Annabelle Lee is a popular one. I certainly like it regardless.
Yeah, Poe has the talent to get under your skin. My mom won't even read it... lol. If I don't have anything to do, I'll end up reading his stories for hours. They never loose their effect, so its fun to read the one's I haven't read in forever. I haven't read A Descent into the Maelstrom for a year or so, so I'll read that, amoung others, on my trip to California tomorrow. :p
