I always look at it the same way. Halloween was meant to be a one time film...one story, told and done with. Then Carpenter caved and quickly did a second film...which again, he had every intention of it being the last. He killed Michael Myers.
Then all hell broke loose... I enjoyed the sequels as they came out, I was younger and just happy to see any horror film in the theatre. Now...I hate them all and have no need for them. Michael Myers still remains my favorite "Scary" guy...although my favorite horror character ever is easily Bub.
