A doctor said that people were basically passing out the virus at Mardi Gras with the beads and being that close. Then those people will travel back home and pass it on to others. That's why this situation is going to last way longer than it should. We aren't taking it seriously enough.

Perhaps when we turn sports stadiums into morgues like in Spain did with an ice rink, then the attitude will change.

Yup, I have stock a couple of months ago. This pandemic will not end this month or by next month considering the fact that the numbers of cases increases everywhere. Some don't obey orders and are threats to humanity. I have enough food supplies for this month and with that being said I have to go out next week and buy more.

Next week will be worse than this week. And as for April...oh boy...

People still aren't taking it seriously. I made an early trip to get some supplies. I was in one aisle keeping my distance from someone getting items and another person came up almost behind me. Instead of waiting they said excuse me even though there was a person ahead. We are talking a small aisle. I just went forward out of the whole mess.

The store I went to was all out of disinfectant supplies too.

Second place I went to people were waiting in front of the store just like people would normally at a Black Friday sale. I stood off the side at about half the distance of the length of the store watching them. I heard one of the people cough. But no one seemed to panic. Still asking for it.

People working the stores seemed scared. Some just lying to get away. Some talking and walking. I had to ask a few people before getting to the truth that supplies were out of stock for a few days. Website stocks were incorrect.

For Chinese people it must be terrible having someone say the China virus as some will automatically think if they see a Chinese person that person is at fault even if they have never been to China. Or not a carrier of the virus.

It's really sad that we don't have the leadership to completely shut down now. The longer we wait more people will get infected. You don't have an economy at all without people.

It's funny Slasher, i caught myself twice doing the same thing at the grocery store. I wasn't respecting the physical distancing. I did it without thinking. And got a few well-deserved glares.

Number of new confirmed cases in Ohio is still going up: 25th/140, 26th/157, 27th/276, (28th skipped) 29th/516 (est 28th/258, 29th/258). A dip over the weekend, but the number of tests is still very low 20.6k (0.18% of 11.7 million population). About 1/18 tests are now negative, up from 1/5 six days ago, meaning we just got a boat load of new tests. Point is, we'll need to see a drop in new cases per day before state closure policy will change.

Number of hospitalized is also an important number. OH has 403 with 29 deaths. Number hospitalized quadrupled in 6 days; doubled in the last 3 days. Still 403 is by no means a stress on beds, but I don't know how OH is doing on ventilators.

The numbers will keep going up, tests or no test without a complete shut down. They are talking about people in jails getting the virus. Obviously people in jail aren't going to China. So either a few recent arrests allowed the virus to get into the jail system. Or people who worked at the jail contaminated it by going about business as usual.

Plus we have a so called US President who says 100,000 Americans dead is basically a good job. Republicans would have impeached Obama for something like that. It's called failure to protect American citizens.

This is real simple. Start April 1st.

1. Shut down everything except essentials.

2. No one goes anywhere except for food, medicine, hospital, or money.

3. Have police at the essential areas to maintain distance if necessary. I think they did this in Italy. It still took a while for their numbers to slow because the virus lives for a while. And you'll need 2 to 3 weeks for symptoms to show in people.

Tests are fine. But positive tests will still get you quarantine. And I think the numbers in the United States are such that tracing contacts almost doesn't matter anymore. At least not until we get the numbers under control again. Or in smaller population areas. New York for example is way out of control. Perhaps if someone gets the virus in a small town you can figure that out pretty easily.

Start April 1st you say? April Fools Day?

Ohio established your rules from the get-go -- that is when the Governor knew coivd19 was here. I figure they helped immensely, but we still have what we have.

The US now has twice the infections that China had, and 1/5 of the world's infections; and NY/NJ is half of all US cases. Is that the in-your-face effect? Per capita, that's extremely worse than China, and I don't know how much 'covid19' has mutated; but then China has many years of experience squashing the curve (they've dealt with SARS). Per capita, there are six European countries, plus Iran, that have done worse than the US. The US is considered a more extra-personal-space country than most of the world, so that helps.

Trump has 'allowed' the states to enact their own procedures, while facilitating the automatic fed/world agency' advice, which, although this is unprecedented, is not only the norm, but probably wise. NY may need to do things differently than Montana. Trump is, evidently pushing companies to produce virus related supplies. I don't know what you wanted Trump to do... but besides a quicker and more seriously delivered speech, like from Obama, I don't think the Oval Office' response would have been markedly different, in my opinion.

What's going on in your state?

Delaware implemented the stay-at-home order about a week or so ago. Essential personnel are allowed to go to work. That includes me. I've been good. I go from home to work, and back again. I only go out if I need something from the grocery store, or need to get my meds refilled.

The Federal Government has to take control and it has to be uniform policies across all states. It doesn't work if everyone is doing it differently and at different times. Or traveling between states and unknowingly brings the virus with them. We are at best weeks if not months behind, that's why the numbers are off the wall.

When we saw doctors in China with the full gear back in I believe January was when we should have been getting ready. It's obvious now that the virus lives on surfaces and in the air for long enough to infect many people.
