Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the few superhero movies I enjoyed... I would never buy it on DVD, though.

What is your requirement for buying a movie?

If I know I'll watch it again. Some movies, for whatever reason, just don't make me want to watch them again even if I thought they were great (e.g. The Innocents).

The Last Broadcast (1998)

Pretty solid mockumentary that predates The Blair Witch Project. It's basically a glorified episode of Dateline, but it's still interesting, suspenseful, and creepy. Recommended if you like investigation shows like Dateline.

6/10

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

A+

Love this movie!! I just caught it at the theater today. Beautiful scenery, great battles, awesome acting, nicely added humor, and so on. I hated to see the trilogy end; same way I felt about LOTR. I love Peter Jackson and I hope he continues to make movies that I truly enjoy.

I would have preferred the book as 2 movies and not 3. 1 seems like it would be way too jam-packed, and 3 seems too spread out.

I respect your preference. I just don't understand it I guess. Probably because I'm a collector and because if i like a movie odds are I'll watch it again

I don't understand it either, to be honest. I do want to buy The Innocents on DVD now, btw.

Me either. In fact, I doubt I'll ever watch it again (unless friends are).

I think the best super hero films I've ever seen are:

Spiderman II (2004)
Superman (1978)
X-Men Days of Future Past (2014)
X-Men (2000)

Others have been entertaining, but I thought those were exceptional. Have you seen any of these? What did you think?

When you can rent a film online, or at the library (yes, there's tons of great films for free), Youtube has tons, Netflixs, etc, or at the DVD stores, I don't see the point in putting much of my money into video/DVDs. Got to save for a rainy day, retirement, or give to save lives. Plus, I don't rewatch a lot of films either, though. I have a large music library, but I do listen and use them quite a bit (radio show).

Why do you guys buy so many films?

To jump in on the superhero conversation, my favorite is The Avengers. I watch it over and over.

And, I have the same requirement as horcrux when buying movies. If I know I'll watch it again, I'll buy it. Every once in a while, I'll go through my DVDs, and, if there are any that don't interest me anymore, I'll take them to 2nd & Charles.
