i liked the fly more than i thought i would when i saw it. it is cheesy and sort of silly by today's standards and i grew up with the 80's version but the older version was a lot of fun. i would re-watch it anytime.

I rewatched the Fly 58, and I was reminded how disturbed I was over the hydraulic press death concept when I was a kid. Very disgusting & horrifying.

The film had some slow parts. The concept of the doctor's mind becoming more fly-like wasn't expanded upon; whereas Pouge & Cronenberg did a good job expanding on that and some teleportation issues. The 58's whiteheaded fly ending will go down as one of the best ever made.

I thought the story had some anti-ubermensch (Nietsche), that being going beyond human, human restraints, morality... wanted to be the only insect politician, but they're aren't any... What'd you think?
