Sad fucking movie. Every second right up until the last minute of the movie I just about wanted to cry. I get that it's supposed to be a black comedy or what not, but I was perplexed as to why my boyfriend was laughing.

Joshuu sasori: Kemono-beya (Female Prisoner Scorpion: Beast Stable) (1973)

Ah, I love this trilogy.

L'important c'est d'aimer (1975)

One of Zulawski's best works, which is really saying something.

One of the funniest black comedies of recent years. Brilliant peformance from Nicholson, plenty of touching scenes, but its the laughs where I find it really delivers, to be honest. So many quality comedic scenes and every letter to his adopted kid is superb. Would've prefered it to be darker though if anything. Found the ending a little too sentimental, would've liked to see them really crank it up at the end. Quality film.

And Soon the Darkness (1970)

Jane (Pamela Franklin) and Cathy (Michele Dotrice) are British nurses on a cycling holiday in rural France. They had a disagreement and Jane splits, while Cathy stays behind. When Jane returns a few minutes later to the spot where she left her friend, she discovers that Cathy has been mysteriously vanished. As if that weren't distressing enough, she learns from the local people that the site where her friend disappeared from is the same place where a lady tourist was found murdered a few years before!

A very well crafted atmospheric British suspense thriller. Excellent camera works & nice background scores made it thoroughly captivating. As Jane doesn't speak/understand French well & there was no subtitles, so we can feel a sense of her confusion and mounting fear while the local people were talking suspiciously. It worked pretty well to develop the tension. Moreover, saw it on a B/W format...which added a cult tone overall.

(An American remake is going to release this year & having Amber Heard on the lead.)

Eyes of Laura Mars (1978)

An American Giallo! Story & screenplay by John Carpenter!! A terrific cast that includes Tommy Lee Jones, Faye Dunaway & Brad Dourif!!! But why I haven't heard of it before!??! how come?

Beyond Remedy (2009)

A poor, low budget German Horror.
