Wached Yellow Brick Road, and S&Man.
It's the second time I've watched Yellow Brick Road, and I really don't know if it's ok or if it sucks. There is something in the movie that must intrigue me because I watched it twice. What that something is, I'll never know. S&Man is great! It's a documentary about torture porn movies. They do interviews with the director of the August Underground movies, and other characters from that industry. Personally, I hate those type of movies. I am not one of those snooty horror fans who is anti-gore, and wants every movie to be The Haunting. I love gore, but at least throw a teeny bit of plot in it to make it interesting. And get a better camera! My cell phone takes better videos than whatever they're shooting with. Even with all my feelings about torture porn, I thought this movie was brilliant! Ok... maybe not brilliant, but it's very unique, and definitely worth watching! I'd talk about it more, but I don't want to ruin anything, It's one of those movies that you really don't appreciate how slick it is til the credits are rolling.

I think Mordum is a brilliant film. There's plenty of story in the August Underground series. Maybe they aren't plot driven but they are definitely a character study that puts you in the killers world.

Just got done watching Freejack.
For some reason I've had an urge to revisit some early 90's sci-fi titles that I didn't have much recollection of. Funny, it goes to show how your taste changes...I remember seeing a preview on a VHS for this movie and thinking WOW it looks awesome. Then I watched it, I must have been maybe 13? I didn't actually like it. Maybe it was that I didn't really have an understanding of what was going on, though I had no fond memory whatsoever of this movie, in fact I remember being pretty disappointed. Yknow, I actually quite enjoyed this - kind of similar to another one of my sci-fi action favourites of around that time (Total Recall) though doesn't really fall at all into "rip off" territory. It was a cool idea, lots of twists and turns, and a damn trippy ending. Glad that I had the random inclination to check it out again. So on my 90's sci-fi that I can't remember list The Lawnmower Man Hardware Virtuosity Circuitry Man - Of course I'm open to any suggestions of films along these lines between the early to mid 90's. I think there was some really good sci-fi going on back then.

It turns out that this is extremely important to the plot and character development. I just despise such manipulative tactics like this. However the film is very well done, bleak, stark, genuinely upsetting and very effective in the points it makes. Bottom line is I will never watch this film again nor recommend it to anyone because of that scene (which is repeated again later in the film) but that is my personal choice and view, I completely understand how this film could be very well liked, even enjoyed by some regardless of that scene. Challenging stuff.
