The Redwood Massacre (2014)
Average slasher that had a lot of potential but ruined by the weak script and low budget. The Scottish woods and old houses looked great though. They should make more movies in the British country side. Leprechaun Origins was shite but the locations were good. We Are Still Here (2015) "Couple who lost their son moves into an old house and stuff happens." Hard to talk about this one without spoiling anything. But the movie has a really good pace, it's not boring and the length is about 80 minutes so see for yourself. |

Yup, that's pretty much my rating as well.
A pretty good haunted house flick with decent acting, nice looking ghosts and some good scares. Cheap scares yes, but effective. My only problem with it was the camera work in the beginning which seemed really amateurish. But it got better.

I watched this a few days ago but forgot to write about it.
Case 39 A surprisingly fun and entertaining supernatural thriller. While it's not scary in the slightest, Case 39 does put a unique twist on the killer child trope. 6/10

Haha well I really liked it but I went to sleep directly after and I had to swim in the morning, so it wasn't really on my mind. It's recommended if you like those kinds of movies.

Run All Night (2015)
Just another Liam Neeson flick. I wasn't impressed and I thought it was 20-30 minutes too long. And what's the deal of starting a movie by showing the (near) ending? "Hey, here you can see what happens towards the end of the movie, where it happens and who'll still be around at that time. Now let's go back in time and actually start the movie." The Asylum aka Backmask aka Exeter (2015) "A group of youths mess around in old asylum and stuff starts to happen." Entertaining possession flick with some bloody action. Worth a watch. |

Would You Rather (2013)
I watched this on the recommendation of a friend. It's a very simple movie; there's not much of a story. Would You Rather is about a group of people who are invited to a dinner party with the promise that one of them will win a sum of money if he or she wins a game. Obviously because this is a movie, this game of would you rather isn't going to be your average parlor game. What the contestants have to choose between is life-threatening, and only one person is going to get out alive. Since there's virtually no plot to the movie, it does feel like you're watching one fucked up YouTube challenge at times, but what saves this movie from being completely unbearable is the twists that the host puts on the game. It does make the film rather unpredictable and incredibly intense. Many scenes had me cringing because of the grisly nature of some of the dilemmas. There are a few glaring issues with the entire premise; it is mentioned that this game is played yearly, so why didn't one of the winners call the cops after finishing the game? I mean you were held hostage for a night while you were practically tortured, and seven people ended up dead. I wouldn't call this a particularly enjoyable film, but if you just want a crazy and intense little movie, Would You Rather is a decent choice. 5/10
