The Docks of New York (1928)

One of my favorite von Sternberg films, a simple, stream-lined classic with a great performance by the gorgeous Betty Compson.

Kill List

9/10

Bloody Disgusting named KILL LIST their top horror film of 2011 so I decided to watch it last night and I definitely agree. It's a chilling indie horror cult classic with some brutal murder scenes.

Have any of you guys seen it?

Zatoichi, the one they did a few years ago.
Haven't seen any of the older stuff to have featured this character, though I was quite surprised that near 30 films and a tv series came out.
Hm, this one was ok...it was pretty strange in the presentation...though it was interesting and unusual and the story it told of the characters involved was done quite well.
I quite liked the music in this one too.

I love the original films; wasn't too crazy about this newer one. You should definitely check out at least the first four Zatoichi movies.

Nice concept but dull & disappointing execution. Didn't like it.

Henri-Georges Clouzot's Les Diabolique.

I've been going through a few French films at the minute, mostly by chance. In the last couple of weeks I've watched Les Enfants Du Paradis by Marcel Carne, Le Dernier Combat by Luc Besson and now this.

It's pretty good stuff, but I knew the ending twist (As I imagine most people here do) but the second twist...didn't see that coming.

Have you seen Georges Franju's Les yeux sans visage? Probably my favorite French horror film.
