Thoughts on Maniac 2012

Hey guys.

I recently rewatched the 2012 movie Maniac starring Elijah Wood. I thought it was a great film with a lot of deeper psychological underpinnings.
Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way or do most people just think of it as a gratuitous slasher flick.

I actually go in depth about my thoughts in this video review if you wanna check it out.

Also, have any of you seen the original and is it worth watching?

I really liked it - I had a feeling that the Hobbit would be good in the role.
They changed it enough to make it interesting but it still had the creepy unsettling feeling of the original. Great score too.

The Original is a classic - Joe Spinell is so believably has the titular character. Pity the sequel was never made..
