Quality of classic horror reissues...
I have seen all three DVD incarnations of the original Dracula and Frankenstein from 1931.
The only difference I've been able to tell in terms of quality is the packaging becomes more elaborate. That is it. They are not remastered, and little if any discernible work was put into providing the viewers with a higher quality print of these movies. Great as they are, they have not aged well. I wonder why no one has taken it upon themselves to work on these films, like what was done with the restoration of the original "Nosferatu". If they are going to continue to repackage these films, at least give the consumer an excuse to make the purchase. |
