Cold Souls (2009)
 Paul Giamatti (played by Paul Giamatti himself) feels burdened by his soul, so he decides to store it temporarily for a time; later, when he tries to get it back but finds it had disappeared! or may be illegally smuggled to Russia!! It may sound like a similar story from the mind of Kaufman (Being John Malkovich or ESOSM) but it's really a pretty original & interesting premise with fantastic dark humor all over where as usually Giamatti delivered a wonderfully amusing performance. The Ruins (2008). Overall, a fairly solid horror entry. The strength of this flick is in its honesty. It simply tells a horror based story without tricks or winks. Instead, this was a well told, and rather well acted, tale of things gone horribly wrong with nary a chance to get better. Sprinkle in some boobs and some skull-wrenching gore and we have the perfect ingredients for a competent horror flick. There were some beautifully shot scenes was well, making good use of the filming location (which was actually Australia). Definitely worth a watch. Ashe.

Hausu (House) (1977)
Absolute cinematic madness, and more fun than a barrel of monkeys. If you haven't seen this absolutely unique work of frenzied filmmaking, do it soon. Criterion should be putting it out later this year.
